Structural features: The friction ring of a single-piece brake disc has only one layer and features a solid structure. Its manufacturing process is relatively simple, with no ventilation holes or air passages.

Working principle: When braking, the piston inside the brake caliper pushes the brake pads against the brake disc, slowing down the disc through friction and thereby bringing the wheels to a stop.

Performance advantages and disadvantages: The advantages include a simple structure, lower cost, relatively light weight, and small footprint. The disadvantages are poor thermal performance and a tendency toward thermal fade during continuous braking, which can lead to a decline in braking efficiency.

Application scenarios: Due to their limited heat dissipation performance, single-disc brake rotors are typically used in vehicles that do not have particularly high demands on braking performance—such as the rear wheels of certain compact cars, where the rear braking load is relatively low. In addition, some low-speed electric vehicles and motorcycles also commonly employ single-disc brake rotors.
